You know, God could do all He wants done without us. The One who created EVERYTHING with a word doesn't need weak and sinful us to bring Africa (or Europe or Asia or America) to Him. But our great and powerful and wise Father has chosen to use we who are weak and foolish to do His work here on earth. I don't understand why, but I accept it and thank Him for the opportunity to serve. That makes my time here on earth have value, have meaning.

And to top it off, it is exciting and fun to serve the Lord! How cool is that! Listening to the medical team from Providence Church Tuesday night after dinner at Jose and France-Lise's home in Thies confirmed that. In talking about their time helping people in God's name and for His purposes there was no mention of drudgery or boredom. There was a lot of talk, however, of joy and satisfaction.

I want to thank God and praise His perfect timing for having Connie and me come to Senegal at the same time as this medical team led by Dr. Mike. This is the first time we have been with a medical team and we have learned much about this important area of mission work. We praise our Savior for them and all medical teams who show Christ's character by reaching out to the weakest among us.
