Rev. Ted Mahaffey is serving as Interim Pastor at Story Memorial while the church conducts its search for a Pastor. He is a graduate of Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary and Trinity Theological Seminary. He began his ministry through one year as missionary-evangelist to the Presbyterian Church in Jamaica. He and his wife, Shirley, served as missionaries in Belize, Central America, and on the Mexican border. He has held pastorates in Charleston, SC, and Black Mountain, NC, and for ten years at Landis Presbyterian Church in Marion, NC.

Assistant to the Pastor Jason Tippetts

Jason Tippetts graduated from San Diego State University with a B.A. degree in Outdoor Recreation in 1998. Working at a camp in Colorado, Jason met Kara and they married in May of 1998. They lived in Colorado for four years before moving to North Carolina in 2002. Jason and Kara have four children - daughters Ella, Harper Joy, and Story, and a son, Lake.

Jason has been at Story for six years first serving as Youth Pastor and currently as Assistant to the Pastor. He is a student at Reformed Theological Seminary in Charlotte, NC, pursuing a Master of Divinity degree.

Church Secretary Marsha Lewis

Marsha Lewis grew up in a small town in Michigan. After graduating from Lapeer High School, she went to Central Michigan University majoring in accounting. After livng in Pennsylvania for a period of time and then moving to Florida, she met and married her husband, Tom. They have five children and eleven grandchildren.

They migrated to North Carolina in 1979, believing this is where the Lord led them. They have been members of Story since 1986, and she has been the church secretary since 1997.
